Gramie & Grampie Come to Town (Part II)
Not much else happened this week. We just hung out, ate, slept (kinda), etc, but here are a couple other pics of Mia hanging out at home and looking cute while I was at work. Click here to see all the photos from the Bushnell's trip.

Gramie & Grampie Come to Town (part 1)
Gramie and Grampy Bushnell are in town to see their first grandchild. We've basically just been hanging out around the house and eating -- plus Gramie has gotten a lot of holding, cuddling, soothing and kissing in with Mia. She's pretty much only given Mia up to let us feed her and sleep (she wouldn't even put her down when we ate dinner last night). The spoiling has begun.

Colbert Report puts Mia to sleep

We're not sure if Mia finds Stephen Colbert's voice soothing or boring, but every time we put on The Colbert Report she falls asleep. I'm going to start keeping a few episodes saved on our DVR for fussy times.
Cute Pictures of Mia's Bath (to satiate the Grandparent's need for cute pictures of Mia)
These are pictures from Mia's 2nd bath at home (3rd if you count the one at the hospital). I don't have much commentary on it, just cute pictures.

Hello Kitty
The cats have been trying to figure out what they think of Mia. Each has reacted in their own way consistent with their personality. Timmy, being a spoiled brat, yowels when Mia cries -- not out of sympathy, but as if to say, "stop being so loud." He also ignores her when he gets on your lap and would walk right on top of her if you let him. Lily is still a bit freaked out by the baby and approaches with curiosity in a timid manner. She's not quite sure what to think.Just wait till she starts pulling their hair and tails.

Taxes Are Boring
After making an unsuccessful trip to the doctor's to drop off Alli's disability and AFLAC paperwork (first I went to Mia's doctor's office instead of Alli's and then when I got to Alli's doctor I found they are closed on Tuesdays) I came home to help Alli out with the taxes. Taxes are boring and I was tired. Luckily, Mia needed a nap too and Alli's compulsive nature demands that she do the taxes -- so I got the tough assignment of napping with Mia. ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ...
Photo Album Added
We added a link to Mia's online photo album. Take a look to your right and you'll see its the first link in the navigation. This is where we'll keep all the latest and greatest photos of everyone's favorite baby, Mia.

What We Did on Mia's First Monday
Today we took some glamour shots of Alli and Mia, then went for a walk downtown. It was Mia's first trip out of the house since we came home from the hospital. We learned that Mia likes the stroller, the pacifier works if we absolutely need it and that Alli drives the stroller like she drives the car. When we got home Alli and Mia took a nap together. Super-cute.

First doctor visit
We had our first visit with the doctor yesterday. He's awesome -- we're very happy with him. Everything went great. He described her as "a very cool baby". All of her measurements, reactions, reflexes, etc were great. She's back up to 8lbs 6.5oz -- which is only half an ounce less than her birth weight. Nice work, Mia.
We're off for our first family walk.

Hello World. Mia Nicole Allen: Born Feb 1, 2006
Mia Nicole Allen was born February 1, 2006 at 10:43 am. She was 8lbs 7oz and 20 inches long. She is the first grandchild for both Alli and my parents. She will be spoiled.
She is very healthy, passed all her hospital exams with flying colors and is feeding well. We all came home Friday and are getting into the swing of feedings, diaper changings and 3 hour stints of sleep. All in all, things are great. Mia is beautiful, healthy and we couldn't have wished for a better pregnancy, labor or daughter (well, we could have but we wouldn't have gotten it).
We love her. Welcome Mia.
